"Naad Yoga: Journey into Sound Healing"
Shanti Revolution Yoga Shala welcomes our special guest Rubaba for a transformative evening of Naad Yoga Sound Healing on July 5th.
Join us for 60-90 minutes as you are invited into a deep, restful experience of healing sound vibrations in the Bhairo and Desh Raag. Participants can hum along if they wish, activating the parasympathetic nervous system. Both raags will be sung live with Tanpura, facilitating yoga nidra and activating Alpha, Theta, and Delta Waves.
Ancient texts speak of surrendering the ego mind and becoming a complete witness, akin to observing a calm lake with no wind. Listeners will experience a profound state of rest and peaceful quiet by the end of this offering. Don't miss this unique opportunity for deep relaxation and inner peace.
—-Naad Yoga - The practice Naad Yoga (The yoga of sound) is an age-old kirtan practice from ancient India where practitioners witness the unparalleled effect on mind and heart creating unity as a meditative experience. According to Vedanta, the entire world originated from one sound - Om. The goal of this practice is to experience ultimate oneness. Buddha said that the entire world is a vibration. This is why “One Om” is the foundational chant of this practice. Humming the sound serves as a means to arrive at a state of Anahad Naad (sound made without any two objects) and unity. Rubaba has uniquely combined the classical musical notation system to represent seven chakras (also seven states of mind). He utilizes the core principles of Naad Yoga (Sound Yoga) to create healing experiences for the listener. We believe that there is a divine order that prevails all life. We call aligning oneself with it “Being in Natural Discipline ''. Naad Yoga allows you to see beyond one’s ego and thus experience greater unity within this flow. Listening - One of the most powerful means of experiencing oneness is enhanced listening. The mind is like a slippery fish. It always seeks pleasure from one object to the next. From one dopamine hit to the next. Through the practice of Naad Yoga, we quiet the mind and arrive at enhanced listening to our thoughts, and emotions, witnessing surroundings in deep gratitude. .
—— Rubaba is a multi-instrumentalist, classically trained musician, and vocalist. As a Naad Yoga practitioner, he has been fusing his love for music and his devotion to finding deeper spiritual meaning in life for over 30 years. He is well trained by renowned South Asian and Western schools of music and has effectively combined both to share the philosophy of oneness in humanity through music. Rubaba has studied the world’s sacred texts and offers a unique style by combining music from different parts of the world in his devotional singing. His style inspires call and response, deep meditation, and dancing with joy. He creates vast and intricate soundscapes using multiple instruments including guitars, keyboards, ethnic flutes, and percussion, and fuses them with electronic music. Listeners often leave with a deep sense of peace, calm, joy, and exhale after attending Rubaba’s Kirtan Workshops.
